Waterfalls
It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Jennifer E. Thomas [userpic]
Zo.. new LJ

I've got a few very good conservative friends who simply cannot deal with a lot of the raw language, liberal politics and so forth that I post in this LJ. And then on the other hand, I have some very good friends who have zero interest in reading my religious and faith related posts. How to keep both groups happy?

I'm setting up a second LJ, my "polite, nice lady" journal.

On that journal I will be posting my faith related stuff, and cross posting much of the content from this journal, such as what's up with the family, etc.

For those who want to read my religious musings, they can be found here: j3nny3lfsfaith (note, this is an edit, I set up a community so I don't have to juggle accounts)

i like you here more on your bitchy no-holds-barred journal

:D :D

Thanks :)

I prefer the liberal stuff.

We watched a thing tonight about a whistle blower related to the US oil industry and there was a senate investigation which was essentially sabotaged by the Republican Party representatives on the committee where the guy that was the whistle blower was only allowed to read his statement and was never questioned about his allegations on environmental concerns. The committee recommended that criminal charges be laid against the oil company that hired a firm of P.I. to dirty and discredit the whistle blower. The Justice Department was not allowed to go forth with the charges after King George I became president.

The firm of PIs was also going to be charged.

I suppose churchlady was taken already.

LOL didn't even think of it. :D

Hmm.. I do my journal to keep me happy, so my solution if someone had a problem would be to tell them to skip whatever they didn't want to read. :) Maybe I'm just bitchier. But I don't think that's possible.. is it?

Harhar, no, not possible. :)

I just feel that people who don't want to read something shouldn't be faced with it when they go to see what's up in my daily life.

So. Daily life on both journals, and polar stuff on the appropriate one.

I realize we're different people, so what I have to say is obviously just my opinion over here, but...well, I've always been of the mind to decide that if people can't handle my life even as casual observers, they don't deserve to know me. Someone can't handle my world? It's not changing just for them; better learn to cope.

The people that still stick around are my favorite people in the world.

So, I have to say...making a new LJ? Kinna sounds like giving up or giving in, neither of which are activities worth signing up for in my book. I'm just sayin'...make people accept you for who you are, dammit. I don't much care for the faith-based postings cuz I gots me some issues wi' dat part of life, obviously, but I'm still here...if you were to judge me by my own standards, that should tell you something. :)

I don't view it as either. I view it as respecting folks' desire to not be faced with big honking amounts of FUCK SUCK COCK CUNT PECKER SHIT and so forth if they are not the sort of people who can handle that.

I wouldn't swear in their presence and I wouldn't sit there and tell them I think their opinions are stupid, out of respect, so why should they have to see that in my journal?

Jen, Dear, I generally like just about anything you post. While I may not always agree with what you say, I never find it boring.

Thanks sweetie. :)

No stinkin' subject! - (Anonymous)   Expand

I would have made that other journal a community, personally, just so I didn't have to log in and out. (A community doesn't have to be several posters.) But a personal journal works as well.

Are you kidding me? You have actual friends who can't accept you, the whole you, for all that you are? Seriously, Jenn, fuck those people. I've never known you to be anything other than you, the whole you and nothing but the you. And now you're willing to divide up who you are because some people want you to fit into THEIR mold? That's disappointing.

You know damn well that we don't agree on issues of belief, but I would never want you to stop posting about your faith, just because it's not my thing - I can skip past those entries, amicably debate them with you, any other sort of friendly response. People who can't do likewise are not your friends and they are the ones with the problem, not you.

It's not about them accepting me, M-A. They do.

But it's about them choosing not to hear a bunch of swearing or political discourse they have no interest in. And it's also about my not wanting to get razzed for my beliefs and opinions by people who find my faith abhorrent for one reason or another. By separating the two, I'm saving myself an assload of bullshit.

It's either that or I turn my LJ into a "Woke up, had breakfast, went back to bed" pile of boring shit.

Will there be stuff on the other one that isn't here too? Or is everything here, with the "tame" stuff over there?

This is my main space. The stuff that won't be over there is the religion, mostly.

Why?

Because it isn't just my conservative friends who have issues with what I write. I get a lot of AIM and MSN bullshit for believing as I do, and I'm tired of debating it. By separating it out, those who don't care to see it, won't see it, and I won't have to deal with the headaches of trying to be PC in my own journal for fear of offending the Christians or the pagans or the atheists or the conservatives or the apoliticals or or or.

I interpreted it as you were just being considerate to those that need a little cushion. Not that you cowed, but...you could have, I don't know.
What I do know is that I'm fucking god damned glad that I won't have to see any more cocksucking bible beating, scrotum licking religious shitballs of entries. Motherfucker.
Yeah.
So there.

On a serious note--I despise all things organized religion. DETEST. ABHOR. REVILE. And that is not hyperbole, it's statement of fact.
However, I will only get 'into it' when it circles or focuses on separation of church and state, or harm. If you or anyone else needs it to get through the night, then go for it, just don't be asshole about it, or to anyone else because of it.
But what pisses me off, the thing that isn't related to the above criterion? Is when you don't go to church with the boys, a place you all obviously enjoy, because Sam is in a mood, or whatever the hell his deal is regarding your Sundays. Pissed at you, not him.
And don't even try selling the 'keeping the family' together horse hockey. It's far more pathological than that.
So go to church if you want, no matter who decides that they don't want to.
And if you want to have a separate place for more sensitive persons, then balls to the cum guzzling wall--good for you.

Thanks Jen :)

BTW, he's going to church, he removed that hair from his ass.

I'll just read you whenever the hell I damned well please woman! ;)

FIEN! YOU JUST DO THAT!!! :P
