Waterfalls
It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Meme of firstness

1] Who was your FIRST prom date?
Schools with 40 boys and 5 girls do not have proms.

[2] Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
No, but I still talk to his best friend. I would talk to him if I had anything to talk about with him, but we're worlds apart.

[3] What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Beer, given to me in a sippy cup by my foster father when I was a toddler.

[4] What was your FIRST job?
Babysitting. My first REAL job was in a little boutique in Harvard Square that sold funky boots, belts, and shearling coats.

[5] What was your FIRST car?
No driver's license. Ever.

[6] Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
I don't text. Period.

[7] Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Kris, because she called and woke me up.

[8] Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Miss Alice. She had been my kindergarten teacher as well.

[9] Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
Chicago, to visit my grandmother.

[10] Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them?
Patti Tipton. She's dead.

[11] What was your FIRST sport played?
Kickball, probably.

[12] Where was your FIRST sleep over?
Kathy Lee's house, fourth grade.

[13] Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
Kris, see above.

[14] Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time?
Family friend named Flo. I was her flower girl, age seven.

[15] What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Talked on phone to Kris. This is getting redundant.

[16] What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
No clue. My dad did lightshows in the sixties for such bands as BB King, Eric Clapton/Cream, Led Zep, The Who, the Beacon Street Union (which evolved into the J Geils Band), and often brought my sister and I to work with him.

[17] FIRST tattoo or piercing?
Ears at age 12. Tat at age 17.

[18] FIRST foreign country you went to for vacation?
Canada.

[19] What was your FIRST run in with the law?
Arrested for being drunk in public when I was 21. I wasn't drunk, but husband and I were arguing in our car after coming from a prayer meeting, and some guy in a yellow rain slicker was looking in our windshield and laughing, so I rolled down my window and flipped him the finger. Then he turned around and I saw SHERIFF'S DEPUTY on the back of the slicker. OOOOOOPS!

[20] When was your FIRST detention?
Fourth grade. Writing on desk. Had to wash all the desks in all three fourth grade classrooms.

[21] What was the FIRST state you lived in?
Illinois.

[22] Who was the FIRST person to break your heart?
That would probably be Scott.

[23] Who was your FIRST roommate?
We always rented rooms in our house to folks, I'm damned if I know who was first. But the best was Molly Baldwin.

[24] Where did you go on your FIRST limo ride?
1998, around San Francisco.
