Waterfalls
It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Enough is ENOUGH!

Pixel has been a happy camper since winter began to set in. Living out here in the boonies, amidst tons of fields, what happens is that the field mice all move in to the houses in the area for the duration. Doesn't matter how perfect a housekeeper you are, you get mice in the winter. Rural Texas living, gotta love it.

Anyhoo, Pixel has become quite the mouser these last couple of weeks, which, under normal, ordinary circumstances, I wouldn't complain about.

What I AM going to complain about is her penchant for depositing mouse corpses on my bed.

EW, okay?

If my mother wasn't deathly allergic to cats, I'd so have one. My backyard is basically a small field so we get the mice, too. *sigh*

At least when I was little she wasn't allergic, so when we brought our one cat into the basement for the winter, we had mouse free winters. That cat was awesome! She'd PLAY with the mice for hours. Catch them, let them go and think they were getting away, catch them again, repeat till she got bored and then one shake of her head and they were dead. Only one mouse ever got away from her and it still died in under 5 minutes of running from her.

She died when she got a mouse that had been in the neighbors garage eating rat poison. :(
