It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Sam's prayer

Sam gave the invocation last week at our church. For those not in the know of the jargon, that would be the opening prayer for services.

I wanted to share his beautiful prayer with all of you:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this day, this church, and these people. We also thank you for our world and all of creation.

We thank you for the opportunity to come together and worship you.

We humbly beg your assistance in resisting sin and temptation of all sorts.

We request your help for those of us and everyone who are lonely or suffering.

We ask all of this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ.

This beautiful and heartfelt prayer was given by Sam, standing up in front of about 100 people! Those of you who know Sam know that this is quite the accomplishment as he's so painfully shy. But he did it, did it beautifully, and I'm so proud of him that I'm bursting at the seams. :)
