...... .:::.:.:

It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Home again home again, jiggety jig!

I'm back from California. It was a great trip, got to spend lots of time with Amy and Renee and Sonya, saw my Uncle Jack twice and finally met the lady in his life, Kathy, who is MARVELOUS, for the record.

I'm so very proud of Amy. She graduated at the top of her class, and she's so grown up and sensible and smart and just plain wonderful. She really managed to pull herself out of a swamp of quick sand and find her path in life. God bless her, she's amazing.

While there I learned that an old and dear friend will be a father in about seven and a half months. They have not announced the pregnancy yet, so I can't name names, as some of you know this guy. But congrats to those two wonderful folks, they're in for the adventure of a lifetime!

I'm worried about my Goddaughter, Marriah. She seems to be in a major tailspin. Prayers would be appreciated that she finds her way through the tangle her life is in.

Koji and Debb were gracious and loving hosts. It is SO nice to have an ex husband you can honestly say that you love as a brother.

The boys behaved extremely well for Nita and Stacey, another blessing. The only downpoint boy-wise is that the side of one of Sean's Nikes pretty much exploded while we were gone, so new shoes are needed. WHEN do they stop growing and going through shoes and clothing at a lightning rate?

I got sick as a dog on Sunday in CA, which ruined my visit to my friend Gerda's church. I got there, and fifteen minutes in got nauseous as anything. I'm back on the mend now, three days later. The bummer is I haven't seen Gerda in 18 years, and all I got to do was say hi and give her a hug before we had to leave. Ah well, next time! She's looking great though, and her daughter D is just amazingly beautiful and possessed of a true joy that sparkles out from her eyes.

Sonya gave Amy an iPhone for a graduation present. NICE "Auntie", yeah? :)

I loved being there, and I'm glad to be home. Does that make any sense at all?

And I see Amy again in August for the wedding! WOOHOO!!!

She is the shining star in my sky. I love her so very much, and the older she gets, the more amazed I am that I had anything to do with bringing this amazing person into being. I thought I was going to explode with pride when I learned that she had the highest GPA of the graduating class. The young woman (because she sure isn't a girl any more!) has got it going ON! :)

I'm going to bed early. I'm wiped. :)

Where the hell am I?: HOME!
