Handfuls

Amy has been writing "handfuls", the name my father, also a poet, gave to short poems. I have had SOMETHING boiling inside me lately. Maybe these following handfuls are it:

The winter cold
seeps into my bones chilling
me to the very core as
my children laugh
happily in
the frosty morning.

...

Curled up a small black
inkblot rests on my bed
between my husband and
me she is so content and
peaceful such a
Mollydog.

...

Even from two thousand
miles away I can see
her beautiful brown eyes
sparkling as we
visit by voice alone
over the wires and
once again I am reminded
of the blessing she is.
