Breaking down and breaking out
from the chains that bind me to
worn out ways of thinking of
being of hanging on and on
and digging deep deep down within
to find the hidden gem of my
my soul that has been washed clean
has been pulled from the whirlpool
plucked from sure destruction
by the One with the power to heal
all of these wounds I've carried
for so long
and finding the courage to ask
that He help me accept His
perfect gift of healing
I am blessed, I am loved
and not worthy of His great
tender nurturing care
all I can do is give thanks.
