It's almost like there are these periods where our relationship is smooth and steady, and then there are times when it's like standing on the edge of this gorgeous, wonderful waterfall and just letting yourself drop, knowing that there's a safe pool of water ready to catch you at bottom. You take the plunge and you're in wayyyy over your head, but oh man, it's exhilarating, it's breathtaking, it's just incredible and you feel better than you ever have before and the water is cool and refreshing and exactly what you needed.

Sam is my waterfall.

Do a good turn daily

Yesterday was a really good day. I was able to do two really good things.

The first was I found a home for a relative's dog, she had to give the dog away as she is moving and can't take Daisy with her. Daisy is now in a loving furever home!

The second was that thanks to another friend of mine, I was able to connect a diabetic woman with no health insurance with AFFORDABLE insulin and syringes. For the record, folks, Walmart has Novolin 70/30 for $24.88 a bottle. It is over $100 EVERYWHERE else. And if you live in a state (like Texas) where a prescription is required for syringes (insulin is Over The Counter), then you can order them online, just Google "buy insulin syringes online".

I'm still glowing with the good feeling of having done some really awesome things. So I've given myself a new goal.

Each day, I will try to do at least one thing that is positive for other people. It may be as big as rehoming their dog or finding them lifesaving medication, it may be as small as telling somebody they have lovely kids. But I will do at least one positive thing for other people each day.

That's all for now!

Borderline symptom of the day: happyhappy

Texas has to have a prescription for needles since when? I've always walked in, said 'I need a box of 1 cc short needles, smallest gauge you've got' and they hand them to me, take my money and off I go.

Sorry, just wanted to correct this, because ordering them online would probably be more expensive than the $12 that WalMart or HEB charges.

When I was at Walmart they said a scrip is required for syringes. I'll have to talk to my regular pharmacy!

Yay, you!

Yay! You'd told me about finding the insulin source (etc.), but I didn't know about connecting a critter with its new home.

(I don't think I could live up to that. (Well, beyond just staying connected even when it's only to say "I can't talk because migraine level is 9, call me tomorrow" *wry*.))

that's pretty damn awesome! i'll have to remember about the novolin

It does feel good to do a good turn. I think that's wonderful that you helped out two people in *big* ways. Way to go!
